I know how difficult it can be to begin your healing journey, and I'm so happy you found me. I'm Laci (she/her), Tiny Planet Counseling's therapist intern, offering services to the Gainesville location as well as telehealth services in the state of Georgia. I am currently finishing my master's degree in social work from the University of Georgia, and I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of North Florida. I have also completed all requirements for a Substance Use Counseling Certificate from UGA. I'm an experienced birth doula and former birth educator. My approach to all clients is strengths based. I am a holistic-minded therapist, meaning I believe in proactive treatment and building healthy coping strategies. My social work background gives me cultural competency that is necessary in treating the whole person. I use an integrative treatment approach that works best for each of my unique clients. I pull from Somatic Therapies, CBT, DBT, creative therapies, and Motivational Interviewing. I love working with several populations. I enjoy helping those during significant life transitions. Maybe you just graduated and are dealing with anxiety about what you want to do with the rest of your life. Maybe you are a new parent struggling with postpartum issues. Maybe you are newly divorced and grieving a new chapter in your life. Additionally, with my training in Substance Use Counseling, I focus on those who are struggling with the role of caregiver, family member, or those in close relationships with people living with addictions. I am pro-harm reduction and anti-shame when I work with families living through Substance Use Disorder. I also offer gender-affirming care for LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. This means I accept you and support your journey to finding your most authentic self. I create safe spaces for those dealing with anxiety and related distress surrounding their experiences. I promote integrating active Allyship into your family culture. I'm here for you and look forward to supporting your journey. It's very intimidating beginning therapy, and I'm very proud of you for starting the process.
